April Snow

It snowed a bit at Sarah & Jon's last night, and a little bit on the drive home, but I wasn't supposed to get snow around here. However, I woke up to three sloppy inches of loose snow today. Weird!

Winter Storm Demi

We had a snowstorm overnight, beginning around 5:00 pm and ending after 1:00 am. We wound up with about 4 inches after the fall and the occurrence of settling.

I cleaned my car off today, when it was in the 20's and the sun was shining. The first two photos are 'before' (we've had negligible snow this winter!), and the bottom two are 'after', around 1:30 am.

Christmas Eve Morning

Christmas Eve Morning: I got up at 10:30 and found out there had been some snow. I hung out with Chumble for the day until leaving for my parents' house and the family Christmas festivities at 4:30.

Powder

It was a sunny cold morning, and then it turned to a slow and steady powdery snowfall over the rest of the day. We got about an inch as of 10:00 pm, and it's supposed to stop soon.

I was too lazy to do anything except watch tv all day, though in the evening I finished wrapping the rest of the Christmas gifts, and also paid a few bills online.

...oh, and I got Domino's (haha).

Pan pizza with hamburger and shredded cheddar cheese.

April Snow

Looking back over past journals and blogs I've noticed that a major snow storm in April has become a lot more common than when I was kid.

We got 4" of snow overnight and all day today in North Central Massachusetts. Fun for a couple of days (that I thankfully had off), and soon to dissipate in the next few days, as the temperatures will reach the low 60's...

After Snowstorm Lake Visit

I went to the lake today to walk and check out the effects of the snow. The lake's level rose, and the ice was crunchy. My walk was cold and windy, but worth it. I listened to the second half of Pete Yorn's Hawaii album instead of the usual SOMA FM or Prepare My Glider album. It was a nice walk.

Winter Storm: Ronnie

Winter Storm Ronnie rolled through New England, and my neck of the woods was supposed to get 1-3 inches of snow. We wound up with 2 inches, plus a day of grey and rainy weather afterward, which was better than the 3 states above me (VT, NH, ME), some parts of which got up to 20 inches of new snow!

Leading up to the evening/overnight storm, yesterday (Friday) was a long lazy day. Breakfast was at 10:30, lunch was around 2:30, and because the latest Formula 1 race is in Australia, I made dinner at 9:30 pm, so I wouldn't still be hungry at 1:00 am when the Qualifying sessions were happening.

I cooked two boneless pork chops, and prepared two over easy eggs, the first that I'd cooked in over a decade (I usually prefer mine scrambled). I put them both over jasmine rice, and ate the results with fresh muchrooms, and glasses of orange juice and ice tea. It was SO good! I'll definitely be making it again sometime...

Winter Storm: Ember 2

The plow guy(s?) came last night at 11:30 pm and took care of everything except for my parking spot. WTF? The snow is supposed to be pushed from the driveway, past my car's spot, but it was halted not even halfway through. Oh well, it's a new team. They should get it right next time...

First Real Snow

We got a dusting of snow one night last week (can't recall exactly, but it disappeared quickly).

Overnight last night we got about 3". I took the photo last night at 1:30 am before bed, through my blinds and screened window.

March Snow 2: Sage

Winter Storm Sage began last night and wound up leaving 12" of snow here (although NECN reported that 18"+ plus fell. Perhaps the snow did a lot of settling over the day and a half storm).

Last night, around midnight, as it began. 2" already.

8" when I got up at 9:30.
As it tapered off, leaving a measurable 12".

March Snow

The forecast was for up to 13" of snow overnight. Overall, by 7:00 pm or so, we wound up with about 8" here. Earlier, when I woke up at 6 am this was the view:
